Off To The Races

July 29, 2009 marks Opening Day at the track celebrating the 146th season of racing in Saratoga, at the oldest organized sporting venue of any kind in the United States.
2009 also will mark the 140th running of The Travers Stakes, the oldest major thoroughbred horse race in America.

I will be on assignment, at the track for the duration of the six-week season.

Stay tuned for updates!

"Sporting Event"?

Little people clinging to angry horses as they barrel down the simplest of dirt paths?

The whole notion scares me.

Scares me and upsets me.

Can't we outlaw this in Obama's America?

Might we insist that horses ride fat people in order to exercise them both.

I hear that water from the "Saratoga Springs" smells like the Devil's own swampass after a night of gnashing brimstone.

Scares and upsets me.

Can't we just outlaw everything?

Sincerely,

Joe Biden
