Today is Peter Falk's 81st birthday.
Falk is most famous for his role as t.v.'s Columbo.
Lt. Columbo possessed a keen mind and would solve his cases by paying close attention to tiny inconsistencies in the suspects' stories and hounding them until they confessed.
The detective put on a good show of being dim-witted so that the criminals would be more at ease around him.
Peter also starred alongside the Rat pack, as Guy Gisborne, in 1964's Robin and the 7 Hoods. The film took the legend of Robin Hood and transplanted it to 1930's Chicago. It's one of my all time favorite movies--but that's a whole other post.
