Guitar master Jimi Hendrix died 38 years ago today at the age of 27. He choked to death on his own vomit after overdosing on barbiturates.
Jimi is widely recognized as one of the most creative and influential musicians of the 20th century.
Hendrix pioneered the explosive possibilities of the electric guitar.
His innovative style of combining fuzz, feedback and controlled distortion created a new musical form.This new musical form was like nothing heard before, but has been often imitated as a part of his legacy.
